Simpsons & Prohibition

The producers of the Simpsons did an excellent job of portraying what it was like to be in a period of prohibition. The accuracies definetly outweighed the fictional comedy of the show. for example some of the accuracies were fighting, cops at speakeasies, chaos, gangsters, paying off the cops, bringing in new police force. All of these things happened in the 1920s. There were some fictional aspects of the show suck as filling bowling balls with alcohal and sending it to speakeasies through a series of pipes, and catapulting people that broke the law. I really enjoyed this episode because the put in a lot of facts and they made it really funny.

One thing i might do to make this episode more historically accurate would be to make a group of gangsters rather than just one. Have one main gangster (Al Capone), but have followers of his.

Should AMericans give up freedoms during war?

They should be able to decide. Americans should not have give up their freedoms during a time war. those freedoms were given to every American by our founding fathers. it should be our right to decide if we should give them up or not. The decision shouldnt be forced upon us.

Span Sneak Attack, More Than 250 Am. Soldiers Dead!!

On February 15 the USS Maine was drifting lazily on its mooring in Havanna, Cuba until it exploded killing 266 soldiers. Cubans say the saw Spain trying to explode it although the USS Maine didnt do anything to Spain. Spain is clearly insane for this sneak attack against us. We should be going to war against spain for this crazy act and the innocent lives lost on the USS Maine. We must retaliate and destroy spain!
